Mombacho Volcano Puma Trail + Canopy Zipline

The Destination: Mombacho Volcano Puma Trail + Canopy Zipline

Today we are going to have an extraordinary adventure, with a lot of adrenaline in which we are going to have a great time. El Puma trail is one of the most beautiful trails to climb in Nicaragua and we will combine it with a zipline tour that frankly will captivate us.

This action will start at 9 am. Our driver will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the base of the volcano. Once there, we will take a 4×4 and drive a paved road up to 1150 meters above sea level. It is there where we will start climbing the majestic puma, a 4 kilometers trail that will take us almost to the top of this colossus.

The Puma Trail on Mombacho Volcano, as we said, is one of the most challenging and rewarding hikes available on this active volcano in Nicaragua. Located near Granada, Mombacho is known for its cloud forest, diverse wildlife, and stunning panoramic views. The Puma Trail, in particular, offers an immersive experience through the dense forest, leading you to areas less frequented by visitors. On a clear day, from the top of the volcano you could see Lake Nicaragua, City of Granada, Isletas Archipelago, Ometepe Island, Masaya Volcano, Apoyo Lagoon etc. Within this tour, We expect to see Mombacho’s most eye-catching flora and fauna, including bromeliads, orchids, and wildlife like monkeys, sloths, and the rare Mombacho salamander. Besides that, the Puma Trail skirts the edges of old lava flows and craters, giving hikers a close-up view of the geological activity that shaped the region.

After 5 hours walking and enjoying ourselves, we will take our 4×4 transport and go down to 700 meters above sea level. There we will do our zipline tour.

To do a ZipLine Tour in Mombacho Volcano will offer an exhilarating adventure amidst Nicaragua’s lush cloud forest. This will allow you and yours to soar through the treetops, offering incredible views of the surrounding forest, coffee plantations, plantain plantations, and great views. Our route will be a little more than two kilometers in total. 17 platforms, 11 steel cables and 2 suspension bridges are part of our structure. Our longest cable is almost 300 meters (almost 1000 feet) and its maximum height is 35 meters (120 feet). In addition, in our tour we have a rappel, this is optional, in case you just want to do it.
