The day begins at 8:30 AM, when you will be picked up from your hotel in Granada and transported to the base of Mombacho Volcano. From there, a rugged 4×4 vehicle will take you up the winding volcanic road to an elevation of around 1,150 masl, deep within the lush cloud forest of the reserve.

Your adventure starts with the renowned Puma Trail hike, widely considered one of the most scenic hiking routes in Nicaragua. As you walk through dense tropical vegetation, your guide will introduce you to the volcano’s extraordinary ecosystem, home to see orchids, bromeliads, monkeys, and a remarkable diversity of birdlife. Along the trail, you will reach spectacular viewpoints offering breathtaking panoramas of the colonial city of Granada, the volcanic  archipelago of Las Isletas de Granada, and the vast shimmering waters of Lake Nicaragua, the largest freshwater lake in Central America.

Next comes the thrill of the Mombacho Canopy Zipline, where you will glide through the forest canopy on a series of cables suspended between giant trees. This exciting activity allows you to experience the jungle from above while enjoying incredible views of the volcanic landscape.

After the morning adventure, you will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch at El Progreso, a countryside restaurant known for its authentic Nicaraguan flavors and relaxed atmosphere.

In the afternoon, the excitement continues with a 21-kilometer ATV adventure around the foothills of the volcano. Ride along mountain trails, rural roads, and farmland while passing through the small local community of Aguas Agrias. Along the route you will stop at scenic viewpoints and enjoy the thrill of exploring terrain that few visitors ever experience.

The day ends with a relaxing stop at El Refugio Eco Farm, where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the eco-farm’s pool surrounded by beautiful tropical vegetation. After a full day of adventure, it’s the perfect way to relax before returning to Granada.
