Camping Tour to Charco Muerto More Details
DAY 1
Granada - Private Transportation to Marina Cocibolca - Water Transportation to Charco Muerto + Kayak Tour to the Cueva de Los Duendes.
At 8:00 am, our private ground transportation will pick us up at the hotel in the city of Granada, we will drive to the Cocibolca Marina for only 15 minutes and then we will take a wooden boat for an hour to the community of Charco Muerto, upon arrival to this beautiful community inhabited by very warm peasants, we will be given a delicious welcome with a natural drink. At 11:00 am, we will walk to the place where we will camp and spend the night, this in order to familiarize ourselves with the environment of the same.
At 2:00 in the afternoon, our Kayak tour which will take approximately two hours will start at the shores of Charco Muerto and we will paddle along the shore of the Charco Muerto inlet until we reach the inlet of Los Duendes. Right here there is a fairly large cave, we will stop and enter it and have a coffee, a natural juice or a glass of wine there. Then we will return to Charco Muerto and go back to Charco Muerto.
At 5:00 in the afternoon, we should already be in our camping area to be ready for the arrival of the night. This place is located right in front of where the full moon will rise today, the view from here includes the Zapatera Archipelago, the Great Lake of Nicaragua and part of Las Isletas de Granada.
DAY 2
Hiking Tour to Laguna Pichichá Private Natural Reserve.
Today we will have a delicious typical Nicaraguan breakfast, after that; we will get ready to hike a four-hour tour to The Laguna Pichichá Private Natural Reserve.
Laguna Pichichá is a lagoon that was formed as a result of a sinkhole and then was filled by rainwater. Today it is home to turtles, fish, birds, mollusks, in its surroundings you can see a variety of animals such as howler monkeys and iguanas etc. To get to this lagoon, we will have to walk through rustic roads, volcanic rock cliffs and narrow trails which are surrounded by lots of flora and fauna and above all, spectacular views of many places like volcanoes, islands, estuaries, and Lake Cocibolca.
Back at our campsite, we will have the rest of the afternoon free to enjoy the waters of Lake Nicaragua by swimming in it and jumping from a 5-meter cliff down to the lake. In the evening, we will have a barbecue with some cold beers while enjoying the full moonrise.
DAY 3
Fishing and Boating Tour around Zapatera Archipelago
Good morning everyone! Today we are going to go on a half-day adventure around the always beautiful Zapatera Archipelago, in the course of this tour, we will fish and with the fish we catch, we will make a fish barbecue in a local island. back to Charco Muerto, we are going to take all our bags and we will move to a volcanic hill called La Lomona where we will camp our last night. Here at La Lomona we will enjoy 3 beautiful natural phenomena, the sunset, the moonrise, and the sunrise the next day, before we return to Granada.
DAY 4
Back to Granada
Unfortunately, it is time to return to Granada. This morning, very early, we will get up and have a cup of black coffee, very hot, while we sit and wait for the sunrise from the highest part of the mountain. After we have enjoyed the sunrise, we will have our last breakfast, and then descend to the base of that mountain to take our boat back to Granada.
